Inspira: Combination of Proton and Mitsubishi.

Inspira is basically a branded Mitsubishi Lancer Proton. There are some changes on the front, but the rest is Lancer. Even Mitsubishi Proton prohibit touching the engine and ECU and this ensures that the engine actually Mitsubishi.

Inspira 4B engine from Mitsubishi. There are three models that set up the 1.8-liter manual transmission and 1.8 liter and 2.0 liter CVT CVT transmission. 1.8-liter engine while the other is coded 4B10 4B11. 4B10 engine producing 143ps and 177lb-ft of torque.

Why Proton do the same thing as was done 20 years ago, when Proton newborn. At that Proton uses Mitsubishi technology. According to Proton, the reason is purely business considerations. Sedan is in the C-segment where the number of consumers who can afford to buy a car in this class is more limited. Also still have to compete with other players such as the Kia Forte and other Japanese cars.

Proton wants to sell less than 2000 units per month for the replacement of this face. By volume it is not wise to disburse large sums of money to develop new models in this segment padalah relatively few sales. To that end, Proton would prefer to allocate funds for R & D its main models, such as Saga and Persona whose production lot and accepted by consumers.

For the initial stage, the sedan is still very strong smell of Mitsubishi, where local content is also still low. But then Proton will add local content to reach 65% as the readiness of local vendors.

Interestingly, the suspension system will also be on again though, although for the early stages Mitsubishi also little objection on the part of the change. However, Proton which has a pride about Lotus technology, will conduct a series of changes in per and bushing to get the best control level.
